Boo! Blog
So, it's Halloween today. I always think it's funny to see the very few people who put on costumes to go to class on Halloween. They look so out of place... it's like, Dude, save that for tonight! Last night I went to a party dressed as a Boy Scout, it was hot. Tonight I'm going out as Alice in Wonderland I think, although my costume is kiiiinda too small for me... I'm working on making it fit better as we speak. Today was my first day going to class hungover (it sucked, btw). I don't think I'm going to make it a habit to participate in the "Thirsty Thursday" tradition. I also had a paper due today, and a midterm to take so it was definitely not the day to be feeling as nauseous and sleepy as I was. I'm excited for tonight though because I'm going out with my two best Chico girlfriends and I'm going to allow myself to get super wasted. Basically I have two words for the rest of this Halloween weekend: It's on.

TGIBlog
So today, being a Friday, was full of antsy last-minute plan-making and a very restless campus. After classes my friend Liz brought over her hamster, Harry, for me to babysit over the weekend while she's out of town. He's the cutest little furball you've ever seen; expect pictures posted up here this weekend. I'm going to have to have a full-on hamster photoshoot with him. The weird part is that he's nocturnal, so he's been sleeping the whole time he's been here, but I'm sure he'll be keeping me up tonight. Should be fun.
Anyway, Liz and I went out to tea and then got our nails done this evening at this random little place in downtown Chico called Chico Nails. It's run by a bunch of Asians (shocker) but they're the funniest group of people we'd ever met. The woman who runs the salon is named Vickie, and she works there with her two younger brothers. They're the most talkative nail technicians I've experienced to date, so I now basically know Vickie's life story, including that her 37th birthday is this December and that she has a 12-year-old daughter. Also, she gave Liz and I a huge discount on our manicures for no apparent reason, which we couldn't argue with. We did tip generously though, don't worry.
Tonight I'm going out with my friends Alexis and Kristen, I'm not sure where to yet but downtown Chico on a Friday is always hoppin'. A couple of weekends ago there was a huge riot in downtown... couches were burned, cars were vandalized, cops were ignored, clothing was discarded... you know, the usual. I wonder if we'll encounter any more of that tonight? If we do, you'll be the first to know.
Last night's episode of The Office was amazing, as always.

The First Blog is the Deepest
So... this is a blog I guess. I got the idea to do this from my friend Nikki (Hellaeclectic) but I think I really took it seriously when I realized how much I enjoy talking about myself. If no one ever reads a single post, I'll still get an immense amount of satisfaction from discussing my own day-to-day activities.
I just had a birthday on Sunday the 19th, which was amazing. I got to go down to UCLA to visit my best friends from high school. The only bad part of the trip was that I realized how much I'm going to miss them when I'm studying abroad in England next year. Actually, good news on that front, my extremely good friend Kim is considering going to England next year too, which would really save me since I'm terrified of going so far away all by myself. I get homesick just being in Chico for school, and that's only 3 hours away from my home in Oakland.
The real main reason for this blog is to update everyone whilst I'm in jolly ol' England, but I thought I'd get a head start and feel out this blog business while I'm still in America.
I have to go watch The Office now, I'll tell you how it is.
Toodles,
Al
